We bring the same attention to detail to our work at Kiawah River, whether it’s the 500-square foot Greenhouse at Farmstead Village or the 5,000-square-foot Boathouse Restaurant overlooking the river. We think about things like lime-washing the glass shingles on the Greenhouse, so that in the summer it will be little bit cooler inside; and as the lime wash fades, more sunlight streams in and the plants survive the winter. The buildings we’re designing will have structural integrity and utilize space and energy efficiently. But we believe that what residents of Kiawah River will appreciate most is the warmth that a high level of craft brings to their community. And ultimately, this will be a source of delight.
