Tucked between The Shippon and The Limehouse, you’ll find the main event lawn, offering beautiful views of the marsh; the ideal venue for outdoor weddings and social gatherings.

The Dunlin is home to numerous natural sites with a backdrop of large live oak trees and lush seasonal blooms that can accommodate large gatherings or intimate events.

Shippon Event Venue

The Shippon

The largest of The Dunlin’s event venues, The Shippon can play host to myriad festivities, big and small. Let the fresh marsh air pour into this lofty space with the option of leaving the window-lined walls open. The event space is connected to a glade of grass and waterfront views that are perfect for pre-event cocktail receptions.

River Cottage

A charmingly furnished cottage located behind The Shippon provides an ideal setting to use for a bridal suite, meetings or an intimate gathering. The River Cottage has a comfortable indoor lounge and sunny outdoor porch. A flexible space that can be used as a bridal suite or a relaxing setting to hold an afternoon meeting or retreat.

Lime House

A light-filled room with a cozy fireplace to gather around that is perfect for small receptions and meetings, The Lime House is adjacent to The Shippon event space and has a similar lofty feel. Expansive windows and an airy sensibility defines the space; we love it for luncheons, meetings and group gatherings as it sits close to the water and pours out onto the grassy glade. A cozy outdoor fireplace lounge transitions the space from day to night.

Yarrow Fields

Our wildflower ceremony lawn at The River Barns, an enchanting backdrop for outdoor events or wedding ceremonies, nestled between soaring live oak trees.

The Spring House Meeting Rooms

Escape to a world of carefree intimacy as you experience the allure of events at The Spring House. The outdoor spaces feature a shaded bar, resort-style cabanas, multi-level decks with lounge seating and an outdoor fireplace. The various indoor meeting spaces with panoramic coastal water views were designed by Jenny Keenan and inspired by the Kiawah River landscape by utilizing natural materials such as bamboo, teak and raffia.

The Salt Meadow at The Farmhouse

Nestled at the heart of the community near the old homestead Farmhouse is an exclusively outdoor venue. With its swaying Spanish moss in ancient grand oak trees and oyster mounds surfacing at low tide in a picturesque saltwater creek, this iconic lowcountry venue radiates timeless allure.
