Open House at Kiawah River’s Butterfly Garden Cottage

Live music filled the summertime air as guests explored the sea islands architecture and vibrant Lowcountry interiors of Kiawah River’s Butterfly Garden Cottages during the first-ever New in the Neighborhood open house event.

Designed by renowned coastal homes architect Julia Sanford and brought to life by homebuilder Saussy Burbank, the Butterfly Garden Cottage’s exteriors captivated visitors while its cozy locally sourced interiors by McLaurin Parker made all who entered feel right at home. 

More than 200 guests, both local and from further afield, savored summer treats and refreshments provided by Sweet Lulu’s Bakery and Ice Cream Team as they discovered the natural wonder of Jack Island, Kiawah River’s first pocket neighborhood. 

Nestled between two parks with an expansive wraparound porch and access to miles of trails, the cottage is ideally designed to maximize outdoor living. Beyond the porch, the airy living room and inviting eat-in kitchen set the scene for a relaxed sea islands lifestyle along the Kiawah River.
