Kiawah River Receives Two Best in American Living Awards

Kiawah River is pleased to have received not one but two Best in American Living Awards by The National Association of Home Builders. The Bungalows earned the highest honor, the Platinum Award, for the category “Detached Home up to 2,000 sq. ft., Built for Sale: Single-Family Production,” and the home at 9832 Haven Loop earned the Silver Award for the category “One-of-a-Kind Custom Home 5,001 – 6,000 sq. ft.: Single-Family Custom.” Our team is incredibly proud of this recognition of Kiawah River’s homes by the building industry’s premier residential design awards program.  

Kiawah River’s 11 riverfront Bungalows are the latest addition to the community’s residential offerings. The built-for-sale one-bedroom cabins are inspired by Lowcountry seaside dwellings with interiors featuring natural materials, textured finishes and timeless furniture and water access to several launch points for exploring the Kiawah River and inland waterways.  

Regarding the Platinum award for the Bungalows, the Best in American Living Award judges wrote, “…this home packs a lot into its creative design. Attention to detail and built-ins create a cozy cottage that’s well appointed for its setting. Ample outdoor space helps expand the footprint and take advantage of the great location.” 

Earning the Silver Award, 9832 Haven Loop is a charming, 5,026-square-foot custom home situated in the Butterfly Cottages neighborhood. This home was designed to both blend into its surroundings while standing apart from the community and maximizes the views of the marsh and the Kiawah River by prioritizing outdoor living. The owner’s suite is detached from the main house and was specifically built for views and privacy. Additional features include a sunroom that catches the morning light from all sides, an outdoor dining porch and a grand front staircase is meant to be reflective of traditional Charleston architecture.
