Kiawah River Partners with Private Aviation Brand Wheels Up

Kiawah River announced its partnership with Wheels Up, the leading brand in private aviation offering access to one of the world’s largest owned and managed fleets. The relationship will allow Kiawah River’s homeowners seamless travel options to and from the community as well as other destinations.

New and current residents at Kiawah River are eligible for a discounted Wheels Up membership, making nearby Charleston Executive Airport, located less than 10 miles away, a convenient, first-class terminal for members’ business and leisure travel ventures.

“Not only has the pandemic redefined the travel industry by prioritizing safety and distance, it has also brought increased interest in Kiawah River from those living in the Northeast and Midwest,” said Carter Redd, Kiawah River’s managing director. “Wheels Up offers our residents the ability to skip overcrowded terminals and long security lines and opt for a safer, more convenient way to trade densely-packed cities for life on the water at Kiawah River.”

After paying a one-time initiation fee, each Kiawah River resident has the option to choose between the Wheels Up Connect Membership and the Wheels Up Core Membership at a discounted rate.

The Connect Membership’s benefits include access to all aircraft on an as-available basis, up to four empty-leg Hot Flights per year, shuttle flights, access to Wheels Up’s signature events and the ability to use the Wheels Up Flight Desk for on-demand charters.

Residents who select the Core Membership have access to the Connect Membership’s offerings and can also designate up to three immediate or extended family members as alternate lead passengers. Core members are additionally guaranteed access on the King Air 350i, as available on the Citation Excel/XLS and Citation X and guaranteed at the category level on the Program Fleet. Core Members can also enjoy aircraft availability with real-time dynamic pricing backed by capped hourly rates for time flown only, up to 365 days a year and with as little as 24 hours’ notice.

“Wheels Up offers nationwide aircraft coverage, and our members receive access to one of the world’s largest owned and managed fleets of private aircraft that can be booked with as little as 24 hours’ notice,” said Brian P. Reid, Wheels Up’s executive vice president. “We could not be more excited about this mutually beneficial partnership with Kiawah River, and we look forward to serving this unique community and its residents.”

From completely custom home designs to turnkey floorplans, Kiawah River offers a diverse variety of homes starting at $600,000 up to $2 million and homesites starting at $200,000 up to $750,000. The community has been carefully planned to embrace outdoor living, with only half of the property’s 2,000 acres developed, and the remaining 1,000 acres to remain open green space for the community. In addition to its array of resort-style amenities and services, residents will have access to several launch points for fishing and exploring the pristine Kiawah River and inland waterways.
