Kiawah River Announces Groundbreaking of First Custom Homes
Kiawah River, a new waterfront community under development near Charleston, S.C., announced today that four Charleston-area homebuilders have started construction on the community’s first custom and semi-custom homes. This announcement comes on the heels of the community’s initial groundbreaking of its cottages and villas in February.
Four additional members of Kiawah Rivers’ Builders Guild – Structures Building Company/SBC Homes, Artisan Custom Homes, Level Building Projects and Kittrell II – are now bringing to life the first Kiawah River custom and semi-custom homes, ranging from 1,700 square feet to over 5,000 square feet, all located on waterfront and village home sites in the community’s Jack Island neighborhood.
“The success of Kiawah River’s custom and semi-custom homes and homesites reinforces the demand for new construction and the shared appreciation for the sea islands lifestyle,” said Carter Redd, Managing Director of Kiawah River. “Attention to detail, high-quality coastal craftsmanship and unique touches of personalization will make each house feel like home.”
From completely custom home designs to turnkey floorplans, Kiawah River offers a diverse variety of homes ranging from $600,000 to more than $1.5 million and homesites starting at $200,000. The community has been carefully planned to embrace outdoor living, with only half of the property’s 2,000 acres to be developed, and the remaining 1,000 acres to remain open green space for the community. Kiawah River will feature an array of resort-style amenities and services, including a roadside farm stand, a chapel and community hall, a swim and fitness club and an outdoor learning center. With 20 miles of waterfront, residents will also have access to several launch points for fishing and exploring the pristine Kiawah River and inland waterways.
Kiawah River expects three additional homebuilders to break ground on custom and semi-custom homes in the coming months.
