Event Recap: Goats & Gourds Day

On Oct. 23-24, our friends at The Goatery swapped ghouls for goats at their second annual Goats & Gourds Day at Kiawah River Farm. The event welcomed friends and families to Kiawah River for a day of pumpkin carving alongside The Goatery’s friendly and furry goat residents.

Every year, The Goatery partners with Rosebank Farms which provides and hauls a truckload of prized pumpkins to The Goatery for a pumpkin-carving event like no other.

After picking their perfect pumpkins from the patch, attendees were given essential pumpkin carving tools to make their own spooky creations in the spirit of Halloween. Carvers could enjoy the mess of pumpkin carving and leave the clean-up job to the goats!

Not only are pumpkins a tasty treat for the goats, but they also work as a natural deworming treatment for a variety of farm animals. Talk about a win-win!

This year’s event was another tremendous success. The proceeds from this year’s sold-out event went to Make-A-Wish Foundation, which helps fulfill the wishes of children diagnosed with critical illnesses.

We hope to see you all at next year’s Goats & Gourds Day. In the meantime, be sure to check out The Goatery’s grade-A milk and cheese products as well as its goat yoga experiences at Kiawah River Farm.
