Chris Drury
Kiawah River Broker-In-Charge

Chris Drury knows the value of family. When he’s not coaching Kiawah River’s dedicated team of sales agents as the broker-in-charge of residential real estate sales, he’s traveling with his wife of 35 years, Mary Lynn, to visit their children and grandchildren. A native Southern Floridian and Florida State University alumnus, Drury has called Kiawah and the surrounding Lowcountry home for the past 16 years.
Prior to joining Kiawah River in 2020, Drury served as president and broker-in-charge across the river at Kiawah Island Real Estate (KIRE), where he oversaw the closings of more than $3.6 billion in sales across 2,765 luxury real estate transactions and leading the sales team to record sales and market growth. Before KIRE, Drury led sales teams in various communities throughout Florida and the Carolinas.
Drury continues to share a wealth of professional and personal assets with the Kiawah River family including a healthy sense of humor and positive attitude. Drury is a “player coach” – managing the team as well as working with buyers and sellers to help them realize their dreams. We are grateful and look forward to him sharing his wealth of knowledge for years to come.

David Nelson
Kiawah River Sales Executive

Fourth-generation, Charleston native and avid outdoorsmen, David Nelson grew up around the waterways, weather patterns and wildlife of the sea islands. Prior to Kiawah River’s development, Nelson had the privilege of spending hundreds of hours exploring, hunting, fishing and camping with family and friends throughout the 2,000-acre tract. Witnessing the growth of the coastal community first-hand David continues to feel a strong sense of stewardship for the marshes, coastlines and land that remains his home.
After studying Business at the College of Charleston and embarking on a career in Real Estate, David joined The Beach Company (TBC) in 1991. More than three decades with TBC have taken he has expertise in development, sales and brokerage of over 17 new-construction developments ranging in size from $50 million ventures to over $1 billion, from the Lowcountry to the Caribbean. Throughout his career he has consistently been a top 5% Salesperson.
Combined with the wealth of knowledge he has gained from working on every stage of property development, and his deep respect for the land, water and history of Kiawah River, he is as much a part of this sea island setting as the blue crabs that forage along the creek banks.
