Introducing the Bungalows at Kiawah River

Kiawah River recently announced the groundbreaking of its residential Bungalows. The 11 one-bedroom detached cabins average 800 square feet and offer the perfect opportunity for second homes or vacation residences.

Kiawah River’s expansive selection of residential offerings cater to a wide variety of lifestyles and preferences. The limited collection of turn-key cabins is the latest addition to Kiawah River’s diverse options of waterfront, wooded and village homes and homesites.

“Set along the Kiawah River, the Bungalows serve as an ideal home base for weekend getaways and authentic Lowcountry adventures on the water,” said Carter Redd, Managing Director at Kiawah River. “The turn-key homes ensure a carefree escape to the secluded sea islands, where the short drive to downtown Charleston can feel like a world away.”

Designed by Julia Starr Sanford of Starr Sanford Design, whose architectural vision influenced Alys Beach in the Florida Panhandle and communities such as Mahogany Bay Village in Belize and Las Catalinas in Puerto Rico, the fully furnished Bungalows are nestled along a quiet creek off the Kiawah River.

Inspired by traditional Lowcountry seaside dwellings, Sanford’s architectural details maximize outdoor living along Kiawah River’s 20 miles of waterfront with screened porches, divided-light windows and doors that welcome natural light and cooling cross ventilation.

With interior furnishings by Amanda Lindroth, the homes embrace the cozy cabin scale with natural materials, textured finishes and timeless furniture including Cerused oak flooring, soapstone countertops, custom cabinetry with polished nickel features, a daybed and a dining room table.

The Bungalows are considered a waterman’s paradise, offering water access with several launch points for fishing and exploring the pristine Kiawah River and inland waterways. The collection complements Kiawah River’s modern-day agrihood, which features a family owned 100-acre working farm, a local pasture-raised cattle company, actively maintained beehives and a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program for residents.

Pricing for the Bungalows starts at $625,000, and construction is expected to be completed in Fall 2021.

From completely custom home designs to turnkey floorplans, Kiawah River offers a diverse variety of homes starting at $625,000 and homesites starting at $200,000. The community has been carefully planned to embrace outdoor living, with only half of the property’s 2,000 acres developed, and the remaining 1,000 acres to remain open green space for the community.
