About Town: Run Like the Devil + Fall Field Day Recap

Autumn at Kiawah River arrives on a cool breeze, nudging friends and families to gather outside and celebrate the brisk, beautiful days together. Another sure sign of fall is the annual Charleston Collegiate School Fall Field Day and Run Like the Devil 5K. This year’s event perfectly captured the spirited, small-town magic that makes Kiawah River feel like home. We’re taking a moment to relive this year’s event; a celebration brimming with laughter, friendly competition, and that unmistakable touch of Lowcountry charm.

On Saturday, October 18, Kiawah River welcomed residents, visitors and four-legged friends to take part in running events, festival games, a local farmers market, live music and food trucks. The day kicked off at 10 a.m. with the Run Like the Devil 5K, sending runners down scenic stretches of grand oaks and winding saltwater marshes. Every stride helped raise $45,000 in support of the Charleston Collegiate School’s annual fund.

From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., the festival grounds beamed with life, each moment inviting guests to explore, play and discover something new. It was a picture-perfect day with more than 700 people in attendance, around 300 5K and Fun Run participants, about 45 local vendors and endless smiles.

Stay tuned for the latest updates on all of the exciting events happening in the heart of Kiawah River, where every season brings a new reason to savor community and the beauty of the Lowcountry.
